Dr. Vandy Pacetti-Donelson is a veteran of K-12 education, a former Teacher of the Year, and now an Assistant Professor and Director of the Library/Archivist at United States Sports Academy, a special mission University in Daphne, Alabama. As a former English teacher, school librarian, and instructional technologist, Vandy is a passionate library advocate, a frequent speaker about instructional technology and school librarianship, and sponsor of professional development.
Vandy participates in the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) and the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL). She is formerly a member of the Florida Association for Media in Education (FAME) where she served as Chair of the Legislative Committee and as a Board Director from Region 3. She is a former ProQuest Scholar and a recipient of the YALSA Advocacy Travel Stipend. Vandy writes a blog and has given presentations at conference.
Her research interests include: analysis of hidden cultures within evolving knowledge domains; Representations of Cultural Heritages and Sustainability in YA Literature; Peri-textual elements that promote culturally responsive instructional design; Developing the "Brainwork" of the Research Process with mobile technologies; and the development of implementation frameworks for mobile technologies in cultural heritage organizations.
